25 Healthy Christmas Treats for Kids
If you’re looking for some delicious easy Christmas treats that are lighter in refined ingredients, and maximize more whole plant food ingredients, this collection of 25 Healthy Christmas Treats for Kids will inspire you.
There’s nothing quite like Christmas cooking and baking when you have children in your home. The excitement that crosses their faces when they spy a festive candy cane-shaped cookie or Christmas tree shaped bar is wonderful to behold. I remember how excited my own children would get when it was time to bring out the box of cookie cutters to create my mother’s classic sugar cookie recipe. Oh, how they loved to roll out the cookie dough (and eat it!), and then decorate the cookies with raisins, chocolate chips, and sprinkles. Sure, these holiday treats are to be celebrated! But it’s also a worthy goal to balance their diets with healthy Christmas treats that are lower in sugar and higher in whole food ingredients for optimal nutrition and energy during the holiday season, right? That’s why I asked some of my favorite food bloggers to share their top healthy, plant-based kid-friendly Christmas treat recipes with you to inspire your children (and you too) to enjoy the holidays with more balance and mindfulness. These healthy holiday treats are 100% plant-based, include whole foods (i.e., avocados, fruits, pulses, veggies, nuts, seeds), and are lower in sugar than conventional versions. Plus, they are fun, colorful, and easy treats for children. And remember to get into the kitchen and cook with your kids this holiday season. Build memories with your children. You will never forget them, and neither will they.
Happy Holidays,
Sharon
