Faction Athletes Go to Switzerland to Ski the Steepest Lines of Their Lives

When Faction launched “The Collective” past fall, it shocked us—we predicted the bevy of park shots and dub 10s, and they definitely delivered, but what genuinely turned our heads were being the staggering major mountain lines that Swiss skier Sam Anthamattan tackled. So when Faction rereleased a POV phase of Anthamatten dragging Wasatch younger gun Andrew Pollard up some of his indigenous steeps, we were being psyched from the get-go.

Pollard, however competing in Freeride Earth Tour qualifiers considering that 2013, is very hot off a sequence of podiums, snowboarding consistently properly on some of the world’s hardest terrain. But here he admits that he’s never ever skied just about anything quite this steep. Anthamatten, born in Zermatt, was right at property. Significantly from the hop turns that a single might be expecting on icy 55-moreover-diploma slopes, Anthamatten and Pollard open it all the way up. Rarely do ski films give us sweaty palms—we’ve observed much more than our truthful share—but this a single counts as our cardio for the working day.

Buckle in for full-throttle turns down immaculate glaciers. We hope they ate a lot of raclette right after. They attained it.
